Traffic Diversions and Temporary Suspension of Metered Parking Spaces on Temple Street, Jordan (with map)

    The Transport Department today (October 31) announced that the following traffic diversions and temporary suspension of metered parking spaces would be implemented to improve the traffic circulation on Austin Road:

(A)  Traffic Diversions from 10am on November 3, 2006

     (a)  The section of Temple Street between Jordan Road and Austin Road will be converted from one-way traffic southbound to one-way traffic northbound; and

     (b)  Vehicles on Bowring Street westbound and Jordan Road westbound will be prohibited from making left turn onto Temple Street.

(B)  Temporary Traffic Arrangement

     Vehicles exceeding 7 metres in length and travelling on Austin Road eastbound will be temporarily prohibited from making left turn onto Temple Street northbound from 10am on November 3, 2006, to November 10, 2006.

(C)  Temporary Suspension of Metered Parking Spaces

     All the metered parking spaces on the section of Temple Street between Jordan Road and Austin Road will be temporarily suspended from 10am on November 2, 2006, to 4pm on November 3, 2006.

     "Details of the special traffic arrangements are now available at the Traffic Notices section of the department's website (http://www.td.gov.hk). Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists," a department spokesman said.
