Special Traffic Arrangements at the Mid-Levels

Special traffic arrangements will be implemented from about 2pm on Monday (December 11) at Mid-Levels for the opening ceremony of the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum.

The Transport Department said all on-street parking spaces and parking meters and motorcycle parking spaces along Castle Road and Seymour Road would be suspended from 2pm to 7pm on that day.

"It is expected that the traffic in Mid-Levels, especially on Castle Road, Seymour Road, Caine Road and Robinson Road will be very busy in the late afternoon and the evening and may result in longer vehicle queues," a spokesman for the department said.

Members of the public going to the affected areas are advised to use public transport or the Central to Mid-Levels Escalator and Walkway System, and avoid driving into the area. In case of traffic congestion, motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the police. The public should listen for the latest traffic news through radio broadcasts.

The spokesman reminded nanny van and school bus operators to liaise closely with parents and schools to see if suitable adjustments should be made to the school bus services serving the Mid-Levels areas; and pay attention to the latest traffic conditions.

Details of the special traffic arrangements are available on the Transport Department's website,
