Special traffic and transport arrangements on the Peak

The Transport Department today (November 15) announced that the following special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented on the Peak from 9am to 5pm on Sunday (November 18) for the Matilda Hospital Sedan Chair Race:

* Temporary closure of Mount Kellett Road, Plunkett's Road, Homestead Road, Jardine Bridge and Peak Road service road to all vehicles from 9.45am to noon;

* Re-routing the section of Mount Kellett Road from house no. 22 to house no. 78 to one-way operation in a clockwise direction from 9am to 9.45am and from about noon to 5pm; and

* Temporary diversion of green minibus route no. 1.

     "Appropriate traffic signs would be erected to guide motorists," a department spokesman said. He called on motorists to pay attention to the arrangements, be patient and take heed of road signs and instructions of police officers on site. Vehicles parked illegally within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above will be towed away without prior notice.
