Special traffic and transport arrangements for Sunday cycling race

 The public is reminded that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on the morning of Sunday (December 23) to facilitate the 12th Tour of South China Sea International Cycling Race.

- The race will start at Queen's Road Central via various trunk roads such as Pedder Street, Connaught Road Central, Rumsey Street flyover, Western Harbour Crossing, West Kowloon Highway, Tsing Kwai Highway, Kwai Tsing Road, Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Hong Road, Tsing Yi Road West, Tsing Yi Road. After finishing the laps in the Tsing Yi Circuit, the racers will turn back to Hong Kong Island via Kwai Tsing Road, Tsing Kwai Highway, West Kowloon Highway, Western Harbour Crossing, Rumsey Street flyover, Connaught Road Central, Pedder Street underpass, Harcourt Road, Cotton Tree Drive, Queensway and finish at Queen's Road Central.  

- Throughout the race route, rolling road closures will be implemented and traffic flow will be intermittently held up to facilitate the race. Road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented in phases in the territory.

- A total of 14 bus routes at Queen's Road Central in Central will be temporarily diverted to Des Voeux Road Central. Bus stops at Queen's Road Central outside Cheung Kong Centre and opposite HSBC Main Building will be temporarily suspended.  Temporary bus stops for the diverted bus routes in Central will be provided at Des Voeux Road Central westbound outside HSBC Main Building and the Landmark.  

- A total of 17 bus and seven green minibus routes operating in Tsing Yi will also be temporarily diverted. Affected bus routes include cross-harbour routes, airport routes and routes travelling in Tsing Yi. Bus stops along the affected routes in Tsing Yi will be temporarily suspended.  

     People going to the China Hong Kong Ferry Terminal or Hong Kong International Airport are advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid any delay in arrival in case there are road closures and traffic diversions.

     People are advised to allow more time to get to their destination and listen to the radio for the latest traffic news. People who plan to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport. In cases of traffic obstruction, motorists are urged to exercise patience, and take heed of instructions of the Police in the affected areas.
