Transport Department's e-Services to migrate to GovHK portal

The Transport Department today (January 8) announced that its e-Services will be migrated to the GovHK portal (www.gov.hk) from January 20 (Sunday) onwards.

     The public online services are currently provided by the ESDlife portal under the Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) contract.  Upon the contract's expiry in mid January, the Transport Department will migrate its seven e-Services to GovHK for continuation of service to the public.

     Suspension of the Transport Department's e-Services on ESDlife will be implemented according to the following timetable -

From 6pm on January 15 (Tuesday) to January 19 (Saturday)
---------------------------------------------------------
(1) Application for Renewal of Full Driving Licence;
(2) Application for Renewal of Vehicle Licence;
(3) Application for Reservation of Unassigned Non-special Registration Mark for Auction;
(4) Application for Driving Test Form and Road Testing Appointment Booking; and
(5) Application for Certificate of Vehicle Particulars.

From 8pm on January 18 (Friday) to January 19 (Saturday)
---------------------------------------------------------
(6) Application for Vehicle Annual Examination Appointment Booking and Re-scheduling; and
(7) Change of Address (Transport Department).

     A spokesman for the Transport Department said, "Applicants applying for the issue of certificates of motor vehicles through the Internet between January 13 (Sunday) and January 15 (Tuesday) are required to have the re-printing of certificates completed on or before 6pm on January 15 (Tuesday) if they need such a re-print.

     "During the suspension of e-Services, applicants may continue to submit applications via other existing channels like counter services at the department's four licensing offices, by post, or through the drop boxes located in the licensing offices or selected post offices," the spokesman added.

     Applicants may use the new e-Services on GovHK with effect from January 20.

     The spokesman remarked that the period of service suspension had been kept to the minimum to reduce the inconvenience caused to the public.  Notification messages have been posted on the ESDlife portal to inform the public of the migration.  Members of the public may also visit the Transport Department website at www.td.gov.hk or call the Government hotline 1823 for details and enquiries.
