Special traffic and transport arrangements for Hong Kong Rugby Sevens

Special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented near Hong Kong Stadium for the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens Tournament on March 26, 27 and 28.

During the three-day tournament, special road closures, traffic diversions, suspension of parking spaces and passenger alighting and pick-up arrangements will take effect hours before and after the tournament.

Tournament hours will begin at 3pm on March 26, 8am on March 27, and 7.30am on March 28.

A Transport Department spokesman said: "People are advised to take heed of free shuttle service, additional bus service, and bus and green minibus diversion arrangements. They are encouraged to use public transport when going to the stadium and allow themselves more time than usual for their journeys.

Any vehicles found illegally parked in the vicinity of Hong Kong Stadium might be towed away without prior notice," the spokesman said.

"Motorists should avoid going to the area around Hong Kong Stadium unless necessary," he said.

Details of traffic and transport arrangements are available at the homepage of the Transport Department: http://www.td.gov.hk/traffic_notices/index.htm.
