Exercise to test communication for Equestrian Events

    The Transport Department today (May 29) carried out a multi-agency exercise to test co-ordination and communication with the major stakeholders, including public transport operators and government bureaus/departments, on emergency situations associated with the upcoming Olympic Equestrian and Paralympic Equestrian Events in August and September this year.

    A spokesman for the Transport Department said, "The objective of the exercise was to test the responses of the department and other key agencies to a number of traffic and transport scenarios which may have impact on the smooth conduct of the Equestrian and Paralympic Events."

    "Key stakeholders, including the Equestrian Company, Home Affairs Bureau, Security Bureau, Police and major public transport and transport infrastructure operators such as the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited, franchised bus companies, as well as operators for Lion Rock Tunnel, Tate's Cairn Tunnel, Shing Mun Tunnel and Tsing Sha Control Area participated in the exercise which was completed smoothly."
