Tenders invited for telecommunication services for Area Traffic Control System

     The Transport Department today (August 1) invited tenders for Contract No. TD 50/2008 - Telecommunication Services for Area Traffic Control System for Kowloon, Tsuen Wan, Sha Tin and Tseung Kwan O.

     The contract includes the provision of telecommunication network for the connection of about 200 traffic signal controllers to the Area Traffic Control Centre in Kowloon and the subsequent leasing of the telecommunication services for a period of five years.

     The works include the design, supply, installation, commissioning of the telecommunication network and associated civil works. The works are scheduled to commence in November 2008 for commissioning in April 2011 and for completion of the whole contract in April, 2016.
 
     Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong. The closing date is noon on September 12.

     The Transport Department has appointed Delcan International Corporation to supervise and manage the implementation of the contract.
