Special traffic and transport arrangements for public procession this Sunday

******************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (January 9) issued a reminder that a public procession would be held at about 2.30pm from Victoria Park to the US Consulate this Sunday (January 11).  The procession will take the route via Causeway Road westbound, Yee Wo Street westbound, Hennessy Road westbound, Queensway westbound and Queen's Road Central westbound.

To facilitate the above procession, the slow lane along the procession route will be intermittently closed from about 2.30pm on Sunday.  In addition, 41 bus routes and one green minibus route operating in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted from about 2.15pm.  The concerned public transport operators will arrange publicity to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.

Members of the public are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In cases of traffic congestion, motorists are requested to exercise tolerance and patience, and follow instructions of the Police. The public should be alert to the latest traffic news via media.

Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are available at the Transport Department website (www.td.gov.hk).  For further queries, please call 1823.
