Special traffic and transport arrangements at Mong Kok Flower Market during Lunar New Year

     The Transport Department today (January 20) reminds people about the special traffic and transport arrangements implemented at Mong Kok Flower Market during the Lunar New Year:

1. Temporary Road Closures

* Flower Market Road, Yuen Ngai Street, Yuen Po Street and Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Sai Yee Street and Embankment Road will be closed from 8am tomorrow (January 21) until 8am on January 26.

* Subject to the prevailing traffic situation and the decision of Police at the scene, the following sections of roads will be temporarily closed  from 8am tomorrow (January 21) to 8am on January 26:
- Sai Yee Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West and Boundary Street;
- Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street; and
- Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Nathan Road and Sai Yee Street.

2. Temporary Traffic Diversion

* During the road closure on Sai Yee Street, all traffic will be diverted to Prince Edward Road West westbound;
* During the road closure on Fa Yuen Street, all traffic will be diverted to Boundary Street eastbound; and
* During the road closure on Playing Field Road, all traffic will be diverted to either Tung Choi Street northbound or Playing Field Road westbound.

3. Temporary Suspension of Taxi Stand
The taxi stand in Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Playing Field Road will be suspended from 8am on January 25 until 8am on January 26.

4. Temporary Suspension of Parking Spaces

(i) The meter parking spaces at the following road sections have been suspended from noon on January 17 to 8am on January 26:
(a) the section of Tung Choi Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Boundary Street.

(ii) The meter parking spaces at the following road sections will be suspended from 8am on January 25 to 8am on January 26:
(a) the section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street; and
(b) the section of Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Boundary Street.

(iii) The motorcycle parking spaces at the following locations will be suspended from 8am on January 25 to 8am on January 26:
(a) the section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street; and
(b) the section of Prince Edward Road West Service Lane between Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street.

(iv) The motorcycle parking spaces at the following locations have been suspended from noon on January 17 to 8am on January 26:
(a) Tung Choi Street near Playing Field Road

(v) The meter parking spaces for drivers with disabilities at the following road sections will be suspended from 8am on January 25 to 8am on January 26:
(a) the section of Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street; and
(b) Fa Yuen Street near Boundary Street.
