Special traffic and transport arrangements in Causeway Bay on Sunday

***********************************************************

The Transport Department today (February 13) issued a reminder that special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented on Sunday (February 15) to facilitate the holding of the "Po Leung Kuk Charity Walk 2009". The arrangements include:

* From about 7.30am, Stadium Path, Link Road southbound (uphill), Broadwood Road northbound (downhill), Caroline Hill Road between Link Road and Eastern Hospital Road, and Tai Hang Road westbound between Broadwood Road and Blue Pool Road will be temporarily closed in phases.

* During the period of road closures, Citybus Routes 5B, 11 and 41A, GMB Routes 5, 14M, 24M and 30 will be temporarily diverted.

* Bus stops, on-street car parking spaces and car parks within the road closure areas and car parks at Coombe Road will be temporarily suspended.

The Transport Department anticipated that the traffic in the vicinity of the affected areas would be congested. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected area are advised to make use of public transport.

The Transport Department and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to watch out for the latest traffic news broadcast by the media.

Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are now available on the department's website (www.td.gov.hk).
