Special traffic and transport arrangements in Sai Ying Pun on February 15

     The Transport Department today (February 13) reminded people that special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in Sai Ying Pun this Sunday (February 15) to facilitate the celebration event organised by Central & Western District Council.  The arrangements include:

* From about 9am to 5pm, Queen's Road West between Belcher's Street and Kennedy Town Praya will be temporarily closed.

* From about 10.30am to 5pm, Queen's Road West between Hill Road and Belcher's Street, and Belcher's Street between Queen's Road West and Collinson Street, will be temporarily closed.

* During the period of road closures, Citybus Routes 5, 10, A10 and M47, Cross Harbour Routes 101 and 104, and GMB Routes 12, 13 and 54 will be temporarily diverted.

     The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of the affected areas will be congested. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected area are advised to make use of public transport.

     The Transport Department and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news broadcast by the media.
