Special traffic and transport arrangements for "Hong Kong Book Fair 2009"

     The Transport Department (TD) today (July 21) reminds the public that to tie in with the extension of opening hours of the "Hong Kong Book Fair 2009" at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on Friday and Saturday (July 24 amd 25), the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on these two days:

1. The slow lane of Expo Drive westbound west of HKCEC New Wing and the slow lane of Expo Drive East northbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central will be closed to all vehicular traffic on July 24 and 25 from 9pm to 1.30am of the respective following days (except for franchised buses).

2. The last sailing of Star Ferry service from Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui will be extended to 11.30pm on July 24 and 25. At the same time, the headway of the service will also be enhanced to 8-12 minutes during the period between 8pm to 11.30pm.

3. Two special cross harbour bus routes 105R (to Mei Foo) and 111R (to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong) will be operated by the bus companies from HKCEC New Wing at Expo Drive on Friday and Saturday from 10pm to 1.30am of the respective following days. The headway will be 10-15 minutes. The fare is $14.80.
