Tenders invited for Speed Map Panels in New Territories

     The Transport Department (TD) today (September 25) invited tenders for the contract on Speed Map Panels in the New Territories (Contract No. TD26/2009).

     The contract includes the installation and maintenance of five speed map panels on high speed roads in the New Territories. The speed map panels will provide motorists with real-time traffic information of the routes ahead.

     The works include the supply and installation of five speed map panels, vehicle speed detectors, data communication equipment and central computer system, associated civil engineering works and the provision of computer hardware and software for dissemination of real-time traffic information through the Internet.  The works are scheduled to begin in January 2010 and will take about 23 months to complete.

     Tender submissions should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong.  The deadline for submission of tenders is noon on November 6, 2009 (Friday).

     The TD has appointed Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited to design and supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can obtain the forms of tender and other particulars from Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited on 7/F, West Wing Office Building, New World Centre, 20 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
