Special traffic and transport arrangements in So Kon Po and Causeway Bay on Wednesday

     The Transport Department today (September 28) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in So Kon Po and Causeway Bay on Wednesday (September 30) to facilitate the holding of a football match at Hong Kong Stadium. The arrangements will mainly include:

* From about 7pm, Caroline Hill Road and Eastern Hospital Road will be re-routed to one-way southbound and one-way northbound respectively for the arrival of spectators and vehicles.

* From about 9.35pm, Caroline Hill Road, Eastern Hospital Road and Link Road northbound will be closed for the dispersal of spectators until crowds have dispersed.

* During road closures, Citybus Route 5B, GMB Routes 5, 14M and 30, and Residents' Service Route HR 51 will be temporarily diverted.

* On-street car parking spaces and car parks within the affected areas will be suspended.

    The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of the affected areas will be very busy. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected areas are advised to make use of public transport services.

     The department and the police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
