Special traffic arrangement for public procession in Causeway Bay this Sunday

*****************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (May 28) reminded the public that intermittent closure of the slow lane along the route of a public procession to be held in Causeway Bay would be implemented by the Police this Sunday (May 30).

The procession will be held from about 2pm to 3pm from East Point Road pedestrian precinct to Keswick Street via Great George Street eastbound, Paterson Street southbound, Yee Wo Street eastbound, Regal Hong Kong Hotel crossing, Irving Street and Leighton Road.

As there will be another procession starting from Victoria Park and a football match to be held in Hong Kong Stadium around the same time, the TD anticipates that the traffic in Causeway Bay will be very busy that afternoon.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas.  In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police.  Members of the public planning to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport services.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary.  Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on the media.
