************************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (July 15) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in So Kon Po and Causeway Bay this Sunday (July 18) to facilitate the holding of football match at Hong Kong Stadium.

The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

* From about noon, the section of Caroline Hill Road (between its eastern junction with Leighton Road and Cotton Path) and the section of Hysan Avenue westbound between Sunning Road and Hoi Ping Road may be closed.

* From about 4.35pm, Caroline Hill Road, Eastern Hospital Road, Eastern Hospital Road service road, Cotton Path, Link Road northbound and Hoi Ping Road will be closed for the dispersal of spectators until crowd disperses and road closures are uplifted.

* During the period of road closures, Citybus Route 5B, Green Minibus Routes 14M, 21A, 21M and 30, and Residents' Service Route HR 51 will be temporarily diverted.

* From about 4pm, franchised buses of Cross Harbour Route 117R (Hong Kong Stadium to Mong Kok) will be operated.

* On-street car parking spaces and car parks within the affected areas will be suspended.

The TD anticipated that the traffic in the vicinity of the Hong Kong Stadium would be significantly congested.  Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas.  In cases of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police.  People planning to go to the affected area are advised to make use of public transport.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary.  Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
