Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for "Hong Kong Book Fair 2010"

     The Transport Department (TD) today (July 19) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on July 23 and 24 to tie in with the extension of opening hours of the "Hong Kong Book Fair 2010" held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

     The special traffic and transport arrangements are:

1. The slow lane of Expo Drive westbound underneath HKCEC Phase II and the slow lane of Expo Drive East northbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9pm on July 23 and 24 to 1am of the following respective days daily (except for franchised buses);

2. The last sailing of Star Ferry service between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui will be extended to 11.30pm on July 23 and 24 daily.  At the same time, the headway of the service will also be enhanced to 8-12 minutes during the period between 8pm to 11.30pm; and

3. Two special cross harbour bus routes 105R (to Mei Foo) and 111R (to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong) will be operated by the bus companies from HKCEC Phase II at Expo Drive from 10pm on July 23 and 24 to 1am of the following respective days daily. The headway will be 10-15 minutes.  The fare is $14.8.
