Special traffic and transport arrangements in So Kon Po and Causeway Bay on Tuesday

************************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (November 28) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in So Kon Po and Causeway Bay on Tuesday (November 30) to facilitate the holding of a football match at the Hong Kong Stadium.

     The arrangements mainly include:

* From about 6.45pm onwards, Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Cotton Path, and Hysan Avenue westbound between Sunning Road and Hoi Ping Road will be closed.

* From about 9.45pm onwards, Caroline Hill Road, Eastern Hospital Road, Link Road northbound, Hoi Ping Road and Leighton Road will be closed to facilitate the departure of spectators until the crowd disperses and road closures are lifted.

* During the period of road closures, Citybus Route 5B, Green Minibus Routes 14M, 26 and 30, and Residents' Service Route HR51 will be temporarily diverted.

* On-street car parking spaces and car parks within the affected areas will be suspended.

The TD anticipated that the traffic in the So Kon Po and Causeway Bay would be congested. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. Members of the public planning to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport services.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and will implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the members of public are advised to watch out for the latest traffic news through radio and television stations.

Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are now available on the department's website (www.td.gov.hk).
