Special traffic and transport arrangements for the extension of opening hours of Hong Kong Book Fair 2011 this Friday and Saturday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (July 18) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Friday (July 22) and Saturday (July 23) to facilitate the extension of opening hours of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2011 to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on these two days.

     The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

(1) The slow lane of Expo Drive westbound underneath HKCEC Phase II and the slow lane of Expo Drive East northbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9pm on July 22 and July 23 to 1am of the following respective days (except for franchised buses).

(2) The last sailing of the Star Ferry service between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui will be extended to 11.30pm on July 22 and July 23. At the same time, the headway of the service will also be enhanced to 8 to 12 minutes during the period between 8pm and 11.30pm.

(3) Two special cross-harbour bus routes, 105R (to Mei Foo) and 111R (to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong), will be operated by the bus companies from HKCEC Phase II at Expo Drive from 10pm on July 22 and July 23 to 1am of the following respective days. The headway will be 10 to 15 minutes. The fare will be $14.8.
