Special traffic and transport arrangements for bicycle procession on Hong Kong Island tomorrow

    The Transport Department (TD) today (December 16) reminded the public that the underpass eastbound outside the Legislative Council Complex will be closed tomorrow (December 17) from about 2.30pm until crowds disperse for the holding of a bicycle procession on Hong Kong Island.

     The procession will start from Kennedy Town Temporary Recreation Ground at about 2.30pm tomorrow and take the route along Victoria Road, Connaught Road West, Des Voeux Road West, Man Kwong Street, Lung Wo Road, Lung Wui Road, Convention Avenue, Expo Drive, Expo Drive East, Hung Hing Road, Victoria Park Road, Electric Road, Java Road, Finnie Street, King's Road, Kornhill Road and Shau Kei Wan Road with the destination at Lei King Road.

     Members of the public planning to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport as far as possible. Motorists should avoid driving to the affected areas. In cases of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and take heed of directions from the Police.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures as necessary. Motorists and the members of the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
