Tuen Mun Road speed limit to be temporarily reduced from February 19

     Road reconstruction of Tuen Mun Road along the section between Tsuen Wan and Sam Shing Hui is under way. Various temporary traffic arrangements have been implemented along Tuen Mun Road. Starting from February 19 (Sunday), the speed limit will be temporarily reduced to enhance the safety of road users and workers.

     The temporary speed limit reduction measures will be implemented in two phases. The first phase of temporary speed limit reduction will be effective from 12.01am on February 19. The speed limit along both directions of the section of Tuen Mun Road between Sham Tseng and Sam Shing Hui will be reduced from 80km/h to 70km/h. Appropriate traffic signs will be installed on Tuen Mun Road to guide motorists. This temporary speed limit reduction measure will be implemented until the completion of road reconstruction, which is anticipated in 2014.

     Subject to the reconstruction progress, the speed limit along the section of Tuen Mun Road between Tsuen Wan and Ting Kau will be reduced in the second phase. The speed limit along both directions of the section will be reduced from 70km/h to 50km/h. The date of implementation will be announced later.
