Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Tuen Mun this weekend

    The Transport Department (TD) today (April 13) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 11pm tomorrow (April 14) to 6am on Sunday (April 15) in Tuen Mun to facilitate the demolition works of Yan Ching Bridge on Tuen Mun Road (Town Centre Section).

     The temporary traffic and transport arrangements mainly include:

     Road Closure

     * The section of Tuen Mun Road northbound between Tuen Hi Road and the slip road of Pui To Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1.45am to 6am on April 15.

     * The section of Tuen Mun Road southbound between the slip road of Pui To Road and Tuen Fat Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30am to 5.30am on April 15.

     * During the period of road closure, motorists are advised to travel via the following roads:

       (a) For journeys to Yuen Long, motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Tuen Hing Road, Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and Pui To Road; and

       (b) For journeys to Kowloon, motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Pui To Road, Castle Peak Road and Tuen Hing Road.

    Traffic Arrangements

    * During the period of road closure, the following public transport services will be diverted:
      (i) KMB route N260;
      (ii) Long Win bus route N30; and
      (iii) Green minibus (GMB) route 606S.

     Notices will be put up at respective franchised bus and GMB stops and inside vehicle compartments to inform passengers of the temporary diversions.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures as necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
