Latest situation on public transport (up to 6.20 am)

Public transports in Hong Kong has resumed normal in general this morning (September 3) after the typhoon.

All services of MTR, KCRC East Rail, Light Rail Transit (LRT) will provide normal service. Both New World First Bus, KMB and Citybus services have been resumed. Service of Peak Tram, the Tram, Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang Shuttle Bus (Yellow Bus) and the New Lantao Bus Company will also resume their normal service.

At sea, most of ferry services have been resumed.

Transport Department reminded members of the public to contact respective public transport operators for service details of specific public transport. The public should also be patient when waiting for public transports, even the provision of them has resumed normal in general. The public can report to the Department any problem about traffic through Government Hotline "1823". They are also advised to listen to radio broadcast about latest road condition.

The Transport Department announced that traffic around the container port in Kwai Chung would be expected to be busy today. Motorists and container truck drivers are advised to avoid travelling to the area unless it is absolutely necessary. Commuters are also advised to make use of the Mass Transit Railway or ferry service to and from Tsuen Wan.
