Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal work on Shau Kei Wan Road

   The Transport Department (TD) today (September 28) reminded the public that sections of some of the traffic lanes on Shau Kei Wan Road will be temporarily closed from 10am next Wednesday (October 3) to 10am on October 17 (Wednesday) to facilitate tram track renewal work.

     In relation to the temporary traffic arrangement, the following traffic lanes will be closed to all vehicular traffic except trams:

*A section of about 30 metres of the eastbound tram lane on Shau Kei Wan Road near its junction with Tai Ning Street; and
* A section of about 30 metres of the fast lane on Shau Kei Wan Road westbound near its junction with Tai Ning Street.

     Vehicles exceeding 7 metres in length on Tai On Street southbound heading for Tai Koo Shing are advised to making a right turn onto Shau Kei Wan Road westbound via the fast lane of Tai On Street southbound.

     Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected area are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. The public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
