Latest situation on public transport (up to 7.40 pm)

Most of the public transport services have been suspended due to the issue of typhoon signal no. 8.

On land, MTR Airport Express Line and Tung Chung Line (between Tsing Yi and Tung Chung stations) services have been suspended since 6 pm. Other MTR lines are providing services at a 10-minute interval. KCRC East Rail is operating at 10-minute per headway. Light Rail Transit (LRT) is also operating at a 10-munite interval. However, LRT Tuen Mun bound service has been temporarily suspended since 7.20 pm due to power disruption caused by fallen trees.

Twelve routes of New World First Bus serving the Mid Levels, Southern District, Eastern District are still running and are expected to stop at 8.30 pm. KMB route no. 277 (between San Tin Interchange and Yuen Long) is providing limited service. All Citybus services have been suspended. Service of peak tram was suspended at 4pm while the tram service was suspended at 4.53 pm. Yellow Bus is providing limited service until further notice.

On Lantau Island, the New Lantao Bus Company has suspended services.

At sea, all ferry services have been suspended.

All vehicles have been diverted to the lower deck of Lantau Link. Goods vehicles carrying dangerous goods belonging to Category 1,2 or 5 have been prohibited from using Lantau Link. Moreover, all vehicles have been prohibited from using Ma Wan Road for access to/from Ma Wan.

Ting Kau Bridge has been completely closed to road traffic. Vehicles intended to use Ting Kau Bridge to go to the Hong Kong International Airport have been diverted to use Tuen Mun Road, Tsuen Wan Road, Tsuen Tsing Interchange, Tsing Tsuen Road, Tsing Yi North Coastal Road before reaching the lower deck of Lantau Link. Vehicles intended to use Ting Kau Bridge to/from Tuen Mun/Yuen Long and Kowloon have been diverted to use Tuen Mun Road and Tsuen Wan Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid making journeys if at all possible but if the journey is essential, to drive carefully and listen to radio broadcast about latest road condition.
