Special traffic arrangements for bicycle procession on Hong Kong Island this Sunday

The Transport Department (TD) today (December 21) reminded the public that intermittent traffic lane closures along a procession route will be implemented by the Police this Sunday (December 23) to facilitate the holding of a bicycle procession to be held on Hong Kong Island.

The procession route of the bicycle procession is as follows:

The procession will depart from North Point Ferry Pier for the destination at Government House, via Kam Hong Street southbound, King's Road westbound, Causeway Road westbound, Irving Street westbound, Pennington Street northbound, Yee Wo Street westbound, Hennessy Road westbound, Queensway westbound, Queen's Road Central westbound, D'Aguilar Street southbound, Wellington Street westbound, Lyndhurst Terrace westbound, Hollywood Road eastbound, Arbuthnot Road southbound and Upper Albert Road eastbound.

Members of the public who plan to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport services as far as possible. Motorists should avoid driving to the affected areas. The TD anticipates that the traffic from North Point to Central would be congested. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and take heed of directions of the Police in the affected areas.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and members of the public should follow the latest traffic news broadcast via radio and television channels.

Details of the Transport Department Notice are available at the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk). For further queries, please contact the 1823 Call Centre (Tel: 1823).
