Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal work in Causeway Bay from tomorrow

The Transport Department (TD) today (October 23) reminded the public that temporary traffic arrangements to facilitate tram track renewal work would be implemented in Causeway Bay from 9am tomorrow (October 24) to 10am next Wednesday (October 30).

The temporary traffic arrangements will mainly include:

(1) The middle lane of Percival Street from a point about 20 metres south of its junction with Russell Street to a point about 40 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic except trams.

(2) The bus-only lane in Percival Street will be cancelled.

Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. People planning to go to the affected area are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. The public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.

Details of the temporary traffic arrangements are now available on the department's website (www.td.gov.hk).
