Special traffic and transport arrangements for concert in Kai Tak Development Site

The Transport Department (TD) today (June 27) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Kowloon to facilitate the holding of a concert at the open space outside Kai Tak Cruise Terminal next Tuesday (July 1).

The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

Road closures
-------------

Shing Cheong Road, the unnamed road connecting Shing Fung Road and Shing Cheong Road, Shing Fung Road and the unnamed road leading to the proposed Runway Park in Kai Tak will be closed from 7am to 8pm to all vehicles (except KMB Recreation Service Route No. 205R).


Special transport arrangements

1. KMB Recreation Service Route 205R heading to Kai Tak Development Site (Cruise Terminal) will be operated from 10.30am to 3pm. Buses will wait for passengers at Cha Kwo Ling Road (southbound) near Exit B2 of MTR Yau Tong Station. The services heading to MTR Yau Tong Station will be operated from 5pm (dispersal time) until dispersal of all waiting passengers. Buses will wait for passengers in the loading area inside Kai Tak Cruise Terminal near the event venue. The service may be adjusted subject to the passenger demand;

2. In view of the special traffic arrangements and crowd safety management measures, Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park located on the rooftop of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal will be temporarily closed from 7am to 8pm; and KMB Recreation Service Route 5R, which operates from 11am to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays, will be suspended;

3. The stops of Kowloon GMB route 23C at Cha Kwo Ling Road (southbound) outside MTR Yau Tong Station and Cha Kwo Ling Road (southbound) near CCC Kei Faat Primary School will be suspended from 8am to 8pm. The route will be temporarily diverted during the period;

4. The terminus of Kowloon GMB route 86 inside the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal will be suspended from 7am to 8pm. The route will be temporarily diverted and terminate at Cheung Yip Street during the period; and

5. The taxi stand at Cha Kwo Ling Road (southbound) near Exit B2 of MTR Yau Tong Station will be suspended from 8am to 8pm. A taxi pick up/drop off point will be designated at Cheung Yip Street near Shing Cheong Road during the period of road closure from 7am to 8pm.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert the latest traffic news on radio and television.
