Temporary traffic and transport arrangements on Island Eastern Corridor westbound in Causeway Bay from Sunday

The Transport Department (TD) today (February 6) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on the Island Eastern Corridor westbound, Causeway Bay, starting from 1am this Sunday (February 8) to facilitate Central-Wan Chai Bypass construction work.

The temporary traffic and transport arrangements will include:

(I) From 1am to 7am on February 8

Road closure

About 200 metres of Victoria Park Road westbound between Tung Lo Wan Garden and Hing Fat Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.

Traffic diversion

Affected vehicles on the Island Eastern Corridor westbound heading for Gloucester Road service road westbound east of Cannon Street will be diverted via:

1. Hing Fat Street, Tsing Fung Street westbound, Victoria Park Road and Cleveland Street; or
2. Percival Street, Yee Wo Street eastbound, Sugar Street and Gloucester Road northbound.

Public transport services

New World First Bus route No. N8P (Wan Chai-bound) and Cross Harbour Tunnel route No. N118 (Sham Shui Po-bound) will be temporarily diverted via Hing Fat Street, Tsing Fung Street westbound, Victoria Park Road and Cleveland Street. The bus companies concerned will arrange publicity to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.

(II) From 7am on February 8 until further notice

About 200m of Victoria Park Road westbound between Tung Lo Wan Garden and Hing Fat Street will be realigned.

Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow police instructions.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
