Tenders invited for renewal of Hong Kong Area Traffic Control System

Transport Department (TD) is now inviting interested parties to tender for the contract on Renewal of Hong Kong Area Traffic Control (ATC) System. Deadline for the application is at 12 pm on Friday, July 25, 2003.

The existing ATC System on Hong Kong Island has been in operation since 1989 and is approaching the end of its serviceable life. TD therefore plans to replace the existing system by a modern one so as to continue to provide an efficient management and monitoring of the road network.

The successful tenderer will be responsible for the design, supply and implementation of a computerised ATC System comprising a central computer system, about 290 on-site traffic signal controllers and associated detectors, and peripheral equipment, and to provide maintenance services for the System for a period of five years.

The works for the renewal of the System are scheduled to commence in September 2003 for completion in November 2005.

Organisations interested in competing for the contract can obtain the forms and further particulars from Arup Delcan Joint Venture c/o Delcan International Corporation, Room 2402-2403 Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen's Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong (Attn.: Mr Peng Lee, Telephone No.: (852) 2836-3191, Fax No.: (852) 2836-0912).

Tenders must be clearly marked with the tender reference and the subject of the tender on the outside of the envelope (but should not bear any indication which may relate the tender to the tenderer) addressed to the Chairman, Central Tender Board, and placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box situated in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong, before 12 pm on Friday, July 25, 2003.

Late tenders will not be accepted.
