Taxi drivers must display New Territories Taxi Concessionary Fares Notice

The Transport Department will distribute the New Territories Taxi Concessionary Fares Notice and the new fare table to drivers who call at eight designated New Territories LPG refilling stations between midnight tonight (June 5) and 6pm tomorrow, June 6.

"All New Territories taxi drivers are required to display the Concessionary Fares Notice and the fare table inside the taxi compartment for the entire six-month period from June 8 to December 7, 2003," said a spokesman for the department.

Owners or drivers will receive two copies each of the Concessionary Fares Notice and the fare table. The registration marks of their taxis will be recorded.

"We have also secured cooperation from taxi associations and 13 LPG refilling stations in New Territories to assist the Transport Department in distributing the Concessionary Fares Notice and the fare table to taxi owners and drivers starting June 7, for the six-month period. Taxi drivers can request replacement Concessionary Fare Notices or fare tables at any of these LPG refilling stations and through their taxi associations. The Concessionary Fares Notice and the fare table will also be made available at the department's four Licensing Offices from June 7," the spokesman added.
