Four applications received for West Kowloon Reclamation bus services

Transport Department has received a total of four applications from franchised bus operators for a package of bus routes in West Kowloon Reclamation by the close of invitation at noon today (June 18, 2002).

The applications will be assessed by a Selection Board comprising representatives from Transport Department, Highways Department, Home Affairs Department, Labour Department, Independent Commission Against Corruption and Department of Justice.

A Transport Department spokesman said that, "In assessing the applications, the Selection Board will take into account the level of service to be provided, management capability of the applicant, efficiency in using resources and the level of competition that would be brought to the provision of bus services in the area."

The bus companies will be advised on the outcome before end of the year.
