Your vote a recognition of TD customer services

Maybe you just cast your vote in the District Councils Election today. Nevertheless, being a customer of the Transport Department's Licensing Division, you will have another chance to mark your ballot.

Come and visit any of the offices of the Division between November 29 and December 3 this year. You will be invited to nominate staff members whose service reminds you of the department's slogan "Benefiting the Community, Striving for Excellence".

The nominees will then compete for 25 best licensing service individual awards, and the result of the competition will be announced early next year.

Announcing details of the Best Licensing Service Award 1999, a spokesman for the department pointed out that the scheme, first introduced in 1993, aimed at promoting and improving the quality of the department's customer service to the public.

He said: "Being one of the government departments with close contacts with members of the public, our mission to perfect our services and introduce improvements to better serve customers.

"To put the slogan 'Benefiting the Community, Striving for Excellence' into action, we are devoted to give our clients the best services."

This year, over 300 staff from the Licensing Offices, Public Vehicles Section, Driving Offence Points Office, Driving Licence Records Office, Vehicle Records Office, Vehicle Inspection Office and Driving Test Section will take part in the competition.

The spokesman called on the public to vote for the best staff in the division.

"Your vote is priceless. It will be a sign of appreciation and recognition of our services," he said.

To express the department's gratitude to the public's support, nominators will enter a lucky draw in which 20 lucky ones will each be awarded a $100 gift coupon.
