Feeder services to be strengthened in Tseung Kwan O

Transport Department (TD) today (August 17) reminds members of the public that following the commissioning of the MTR Tseaung Kwan O Line (TKOL) at 2 pm tomorrow (August 18), the adjustments of the feeder services will also be implemented in the district on the same day.

A TD spokesman said: "To facilitate passengers to use the MTR TKOL, two existing feeder services will be strengthened and six new feeder services will come into operation on August 18. Seven bus-bus interchange schemes will also be introduced on the same day to benefit Tseung Kwan O (TKO) passengers."

Notices will be put up at all bus stops and green minibus (GMB) stops along the routes of the above services for passengers' information. Regulators will be on site to give guidance to passengers if necessary.

TD also reminds passengers to have leeway to familiarize themselves with the revised bus and GMB feeder service arrangements. Passengers are requested to avoid last-minute rush in making their journeys especially August 19, the first working day after the opening of the TKOL.

Transport Department will activate its Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre on August 18 and 19 to closely monitor the operation of the TKOL and the implementation of the changes to public transport services in TKO. On-site observations to monitor the situation will also be conducted.
