Nathan Road bus stops temporary relocation

The Transport Department (TD) today (September 21) reminds members of the public that the temporary three-lane closure scheme on Nathan Road will be implemented from 10 am on Monday (September 23) to facilitate MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station Modification Works.

A spokesman for TD said: "Two northbound (N/B) lanes and one southbound (S/B) lane on Nathan Road between its junction with Mody Road and Middle Road will be temporarily closed stage by stage. In effect, one N/B lane and two S/B lanes will be maintained. The concerned sections of Nathan Road are expected to be very busy."

In view of the temporary lane closure, the following bus stop arrangements on Nathan Road northbound will be implemented from tomorrow (September 22):

* The bus stop of route 260X will be temporarily relocated from Nathan Road outside Kowloon Hotel to Kowloon Park Drive southbound;
* The bus stop of route 269B will be temporarily relocated from Nathan Road outside Kowloon Hotel to Nathan Road outside Peninsula Hotel; and
* The bus stops of route 2C and 7 at Nathan Road outside Peninsula Hotel will be temporarily suspended.

"The concerned authorities would closely monitor the situation and the public are advised to avoid driving to the area and to use public transport," the spokesman said.

To cope with the traffic impact brought about by the above temporary lane closure, the Peking Road Gyratory Scheme has been implemented on September 18.
