Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Mid-Autumn Festival

To facilitate Mid-Autumn Festival activities, the Transport Department will implement special traffic and transport measures on September 20, 21 and 22. Public transport services will also have special arrangements.

There are special Part-time Pedestrian Scheme, road closures, suspension of car parks, parking spaces, taxi stands, public light bus stand and special prohibited zones all over Hong Kong Island and the New Territories since today (September 20). Special traffic arrangements will be implemented in areas such as the Peak, Repulse Bay, Shek O and Stanley. The police will also make road closure and traffic diversion depending on conditions.

For public transport services arrangements:

MTR Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, Tseung Kwan O Line and Tung Chung Line will be operated overnight from 21 September 2002 to the following day.

KCRC!|s both last northbound and southbound trains departing from Hung Hom Station and Sheung Shui Station respectively on 21 September 2002 will be extended to 2.00 a.m. on the following day.

The last departures for all LRT routes on 21 September 2002 will be extended to 1.00 a.m. on the following day. Frequency for some routes will be strengthened subject to demand.

Peak tram service on 20 September 2002 will be extended to 1.00 a.m. on the following day and it will also be operated overnight from 21 September 2002 to the following day. Its frequency of service will be strengthened subject to passenger demand.

The tram service on 21 September 2002 will be extended to 3.12 a.m. on the following day.

Special extensions of operating hours, suspension/relocation of bus termini, route diversions and special routes will be made by bus companies.

Some green minibus services will be extended and some routes will be diverted.

Ferry service will be strengthened according to passenger demand.
