Banning of right-turn into Middle Road from Salisbury Road westbound

Transport Department (TD) will tomorrow (January 24) implement a special traffic scheme at Salisbury Road to facilitate the works of KCR Tsim Sha Tsui Extension and Salisbury Road Underpass.

Under the scheme, motorists traveling on Salisbury Road westbound will be prohibited from turning right onto the section of Middle Road between Salisbury Road and Nathan Road from 10 am, January 24 onwards.

In connection with the banning of the right turn movement, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

(A) Vehicles (except buses) on Salisbury Road westbound heading for Middle Road will be diverted either via Salisbury Road westbound, Star Ferry U-turn facility, Salisbury Road eastbound and Middle Road; or via Salisbury Road westbound, Nathan Road northbound, Middle Road westbound, Kowloon Park Drive southbound, Salisbury Road eastbound and Middle Road.

(B) Buses on Salisbury Road westbound heading for the above mentioned section of Middle Road will be diverted via Salisbury Road westbound, Nathan Road northbound, Middle Road westbound, Kowloon Park Drive southbound, Salisbury Road eastbound and Middle Road.

Appropriate directional traffic signs will be erected on site to remind motorists of the right-turn ban and the diversion routes. Related traffic notice will be uploaded onto TD's website (www.info.gov.hk/td).

TD will closely monitor the traffic condition in the area.
