Latest situation on public transport (4.30 pm)

No report of major transport incidents or traffic disruptions has been received as at 4.30 pm today (September 11) since the typhoon signal no. 8 is issued.

On land, the MTR, KCR, and LRT have been providing normal services. Airport Express rail service is not affected. KMB, NWFB, and Citybus have maintained limited services. Yellow Bus has reminded normal. Service of peak tram was suspended at 3.30 pm while the tram service remains normal.

On Lantau Island, the New Lantao Bus (NLB) Company provides limited bus services. NLB route 2, 3, 3M, 4 and 23 were suspended while route 34, A35, 36, 37 37A and 38 remain in service.

At sea, all ferry services have been suspended when the Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry Limited's last sailing (Sok Kwu Wan - Central) was departed at 3.40 pm.

All wind susceptible vehicles were diverted to Lower Deck of Lantau Link. Goods vehicles carrying dangerous goods belonging to Category 1, 2 or 5 were prohibited from using Lantau Link. All wind susceptible vehicles were prohibited from using Ting Kau Bridge.

The Central Mid-Levels Escalator and Walk system was suspended at 3.40 pm until further notice.

There are no reports of major obstructions to the highways received.

As traffic in the Kwai Chung area is expected to be busy as soon as the typhoon signal is lowered to no. 3 from no. 8, members of the public are advised to avoid going to the area unless absolutely necessary and to travel on MTR to avoid delay.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully and listen to radio broadcast about latest road condition.
