TD staff gain Best Licensing Service Award

Twenty-five frontline staff from the Transport Department (TD) have won the Best Licensing Service Awards 1999, a scheme that gives recognition to those who have devoted themselves to quality service to our community.

Entering its seventh year, the Award drew together over 350 staff from eight divisions, and the department received about 7000 nominations from people who came for licensing services during the five-day nomination period last month.

Presenting the certificates and prizes to the winners, the Commissioner for Transport, Mr Robert Footman, said that the large number of nominations showed that people of Hong Kong appreciated the department's intention of improving service quality and that they had always been looking forward to good services.

This year's group award has gone to the Driving Test Section.

In gratitude for their support, the department offered $100 coupons to 20 nominators selected through a lucky draw.
