New Taxi driver identity plate campaign to last for three months

The Transport Department today (October 7) reminds taxi drivers that the taxi driver identity plate (TDIP) replacement campaign which helps all taxi drivers to replace their old taxi driver identity plates free of charge will last for three months until December 31.

A spokesman for Transport Department said: "Since there are various channels for taxi drivers to apply for the new TDIP, they are advised not to rush to the replacement and distribution centres in the first few days."

Apart from the seven replacement and distribution centres set up at LPG gas refilling stations, individual taxi association and 40 specified photo shop outlets will be later arranged to process the TDIP application.

Photo-taking mobile team will be deployed to taxi stands to help promote the campaign.

Photo-taking period 1. 12 noon - 12 midnight, October 7 - 13
2. 12 midnight - 12 noon, October 14 - 20
Photo-taking and distribution 1. 1 pm - 6 pm, October 17 -23
2. 1 am - 6 am, October 24 - 30
