Tung Chung Road permits ballot allocation

Ballot allocation of "Tung Chung Road prohibited zone permits" will be held at 2.30 pm on Friday (June 8) at Islands District Council Conference Room, 14th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central.

Officiating guests include Chairman of the Islands District Council, Mr Lam Wai Keung; Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee, Islands District Council, Mr Lee Chi Fung; District Officer (Islands), Mr Patrick Chan; District Commander/Lantau, Hong Kong Police Force, Mr D. M. Cartwright; and Assistant Commissioner (NT), Transport Department, Mr Daniel Au.

50 ballot numbers will be drawn out.

The "Tung Chung Road prohibited zone permits" allow bearers of the "Lantau closed road permits" to use the road when the prohibition of road usage is enforced. The 50 permits to be issued will be valid from Mondays to Fridays and Saturday mornings up to 12 noon. They will not be valid after 12 noon on Saturdays, whole days of Sundays and public holidays. The permits will be valid for 12 months from the date on which they are issued.

After the ballot, the 50 ballot numbers drawn will be posted up at the Central and Mui Wo offices of the District Office/Islands. Applicants will be informed in writing of the ballot result.

For observation of the ballot ceremony, 50 places will be reserved for Lantau residents who are advised to arrive at the Islands District Office by 2.15 pm on the ballot day. Seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
