Container Port Traffic Emergency Liaison Centre activated

Due to serious traffic congestion in the vicinity of the Kwai Chung Container Terminal at present, the Container Port Traffic Emergency Liaison Centre has been activated.

The center is jointly operated by the Transport Department, Kwai Tsing District Office, Hong Kong Police Force and representatives from the container port.

The Transport Department today (July 26) advises members of the public should try to avoid using roads of the areas concerned. Those heading for Tsing Yi, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long are advised to take buses to their destinations at Tsing Yi and Tsuen Wan MTR stations.

To facilitate passengers taking transit at Tsing Yi and Tsuen Wan MTR stations to Tsing Yi, Tuen Mun and Yuen Long by buses, KMB routes 248M, 249M, 263M, 264M, 59M, 60M and 68M have strengthened services.
