Nominations for best Transport Department frontline staff to start soon

The Transport Department will soon be inviting nominations for the "Best Customer Service Awards 2004/2005".

Participating in the awards are the Driving Services Section, the Vehicle Safety & Standards Division and the Licensing Section (including the Licensing Unit, the Vehicle Inspection and Records Unit, the Cross Boundary Unit and the Public Vehicles Unit). All frontline staff of these participating offices may be nominated by the public for their quality customer service.

"The objective of the award is to encourage our frontline staff to continue providing quality service to the public, and to exhibit our belief of 'putting our hearts into it'," a spokesman of the Transport Department said. "We are determined to provide quality customer service that meets the expectations of our customers."

Members of the public are invited to visit the participating offices during the election period from November 22 to 26, 2004 (Monday - Friday) and to nominate the best frontline staff for the award.

There will be a total of 54 individual and group awards. The results will be announced at an award presentation ceremony in mid-January 2005. The Commissioner for Transport will officiate at the ceremony.

"To express our appreciation of the public's support for the event, there will be 20 prizes of gift coupons worth $100 each for winners drawn from the nominators through a lucky draw," the spokesman said.
