Public advised to listen to radio announcements on transport arrangements

As typhoon signal No 8 is mostly likely to be hoisted in coming hours, the Transport Department advised members of the public to take note of the public announcement on bus service arrangements as the level of bus services may vary according to demand, road situation and weather condition.

Ferry companies may need to maintain a limited service or to suspend the ferry service before or shortly after typhoon signal No 8 is hoisted. Ferry passengers are requested to listen to the radio for updated information.

A spokesman for Transport Department said: "It is an offence to charge taxi fares exceeding the scale of taxi fares stipulates in the Regulation. The Transport Department reminds taxi drivers that excessive fares during typhoons are not allowed."
