Quality public light bus service projects - Driver Uniform

Under the projects to promote the quality of public light bus (PLB) services, some of the PLB operators provide uniform to the PLB drivers in order to promote the PLB service quality.

Speaking at a function to launch the uniform, Commissioner for Transport, Mr Robert Footman, said driver uniforms gave a clean and tidy image to the PLB fleet and boost the service quality.

"I am sure that the PLB trade has the desire to provide quality PLB service. For example, many Green Minibus (GMB) routes now have Octopus, and I hope that this will soon become a standard feature.

"Transport Department will work in partnership with the PLB trade, with the assistance of the quality PLB Service Steering Committee, to provide quality PLB service for the public," he said.

Also speaking at the function, Chairman of the Ad hoc Quality PLB Services Steering Committee, Mr K S Yeung, said that he was delighted to see that the PLB operators take the initiatives to provide drivers with uniform.

"Besides the driver uniform, other projects to promote service quality include a PLB Passenger Satisfaction Survey, a Newsletter on PLB Services, Workshops for PLB operators, a Quality PLB Driver Award Scheme, driver training and improvements on passenger facilities, including displaying of TCU Hotline, driver's name plate, installation of grip handle, call bell and speed display unit on PLBs."

Members of the ad hoc committee held its second meeting after taking photographs with PLB drivers dressed up with uniforms.
