Closure of Wong Chuk Hang Road Flyover to facilitate works

The Transport Department reminds motorists that Wong Chuk Hang Road Flyover will be closed for 33.5 hours between 7.30 pm tomorrow (May 19) and 5 am on Monday (May 21) to facilitate works of the flyover.

During the period, only one traffic lane for each bound at grade along Wong Chuk Hang Road will be maintained.

Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary trips via Wong Chuk Hang Road during the period. They should use Pokfulam Road instead of the Aberdeen Tunnel when making their way from Aberdeen to Hong Kong Island north.

They are also reminded that the right turn from Nam Long Shan Road to Wong Chuk Hang Road east-bound will be banned.

The bus stop at Wong Chuk Hang Road east-bound adjacent to Ocean Park Slip Road will be relocated to No.2 Heung Yip Road east-bound. The existing bus stop outside 40 Wong Chuk Hang Road west-bound will be relocated to 42 Wong Chuk Hang Road to allow other traffic to bypass buses alighting passengers.

Appropriate temporary traffic signs will be put up on strategic locations to guide motorists.

The flyover will be re-opened at 5 am on Monday (May 21).

End/Friday, May 18, 2001.
