Strengthened public transport services on Ride Green Day

The Transport Department announced that to cater for the possible increase in passenger demand on the Ride Green Day on June 5, all public transport operators have been advised to monitor the situation over the territory and strengthen their services as necessary.

Some bus and GMB services on Hong Kong Island will be strengthened during morning and evening peak hours to cater for possible upsurge of demand arising from people giving up driving their private cars in support of the Ride Green Day.

The strengthened services are:

Citybus Route No 11, 511, 6, 260

New World First Bus Route No 9, 14, 15 and 19

Hong Kong Island GMB Route No 1, 2, 3, 6,7,14M and 24M.

In order to alleviate the pressure on public transport services on this particular day, commuters are advised to avoid travelling in the peak hours unless it is absolutely necessary. They are encouraged to pool their cars if driving is unavoidable.
