TD's statement on Tung Chung Road

In response to requests from a residents group concerning Tung Chung Road, a Transport Department spokesman said today (November 19) the Department had been reviewing the opening hours of Tung Chung Road and a paper would be presented to the Islands District Council meeting in December.

As for the request for improving Tung chung Road, the spokesman said improvement works to the road had been ongoing. The Department would continue to improve the safety of the road.

The Department had sent a letter to the group inviting them to a meeting to discuss issues concerning Tung Chung Road. The date of the meeting had now been fixed on November 23.
