Parking passes give motorcyclists more convenience

The Transport Department will introduce a Day and Night Passes trial scheme at its 13 multi-storey car parks from August 1 onwards to offer more choices and convenience for motorcyclists to park their vehicles.

Announcing the scheme today (July 29), a spokesman for the department said the three-month trial was aimed to cater for the growing demand for motorcycle parking.

"The measure will also help us to fully utilize the car parks.

"During the trial period, we will closely monitor the feedback towards the scheme.

"We will review the effectiveness of the scheme after the trial, taking into account the demand and the impact on other car park users," he added.

The Day Pass, at $40 each, will be valid from 7 am to 11 pm on the same day of purchase. For the Night Pass, at $15 each, it will be valid from 11 pm to 7 am of the next day of purchase. Multi-entry of motorcycle during the valid parking period will be permitted.

The passes will be available for sale at the department's 13 multi-storey car parks as from 7 am on August 1 on a first-come first-served basis.

The spokesman reminded users that the pass would be valid for a single car park only.

He said: "It is non-transferable and will be withdrawn without compensation if an unauthorized vehicle is found using the pass."

The number of passes available at each car park is as follows:
